COELACANTH BREWING COMPANY to receive
Virginia Green Travel Leadership Award!
RICHMOND, VA. – On February 17, 2017, the Virginia Green program will recognize outstanding Virginia tourism businesses from across the Commonwealth for their voluntary efforts to reduce the environmental impacts of their operations. The awards will be presented at the 4th annual Virginia Green Travel Conference & Awards that is being held at Darden School Conference Center at the University of Virginia.
Coelacanth Brewing Company is receiving the Virginia Green Travel Leader Award for its exceptional efforts and commitment to environmental excellence in 2016.
“We are incredibly proud to recognize Coelacanth Brewing as a Virginia Green Travel Leader,” says Tom Griffin, the Executive Director of the Virginia Green Travel Alliance. “The growth of the Virginia Green program statewide has been remarkable, and our awards program is a celebration of that progress. Virginia Green Travel partners are truly leading our program’s efforts to reduce the environmental impacts of the industry and to increase green tourism business in Virginia.”

The Virginia Green program is run through a partnership of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Tourism Corporation, the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association and the Virginia Green Travel Alliance. The program encourages green practices throughout Virginia’s tourism industry, and nearly 1,700 tourism operations have self-certified their green commitments through the program.
The awards will be presented during the Virginia Green Travel Awards Luncheon which will be held from Noon until 1:15pm on Friday, February 17, 2017. Virginia’s First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe will be attending the luncheon and presenting the awards.
