CHARLOTTESVILLE’S IX ART PARK SELECTED FOR 2017 VA CRAFT BREWERS FEST
-VCBG Partners with Three Notch’d Brewing Company-
RICHMOND, VA – Today the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild (VCBG) announced the 6th Annual Virginia Craft Brewers Fest will be Saturday, August 19, 2017 at its new home at the IX Art Park in Charlottesville, VA. Three Notch’d Brewing Company and IX Art Park won a highly competitive proposal process among nine final applicants from across the Commonwealth. The new site and partnership will allow the VA Craft Brewers Fest to grow to 7,000 enthusiasts and 140 independent Virginia craft breweries while also offering more community amenities.
The IX Art Park has hosted scores of public events including craft beer festivals, concert tours, community movie festivals and art events. Located on 17 acres, IX Art Park is just four blocks from the downtown mall and walking distance to hotels. It is serviced by three local bus transit routes, offers plenty of free parking and is easily accessible. Camping and shuttle services will also be available to brewers and enthusiasts.
“The Fest request for proposal process was incredible and we were fortunate to have a fantastic group of partners to choose from,” said Betty Arnold, VCBG Member Services Director. Betty went on to say that, “We were seeking a multi-year partnership with a financially strong organization at a venue that would grow with us - Three Notch’d Brewing Company and the IX Art Park location was the standout choice.”
Since the request for proposal process produced such fantastic choices across the Commonwealth, the VCBG has been inspired to develop additional regional Festivals in Norfolk, Northern Virginia, Richmond and Virginia Beach over the next 18 months. All of this is to make a substantial investment in raising public awareness about quality Virginia craft beer.
The VCBG Leadership Council is committed to growing the VA Craft Brewers Fest as the largest independent Virginia craft beer festival in the Commonwealth. The solicitation and selection process took nearly five months but resulted in a terrific new partnership and venue with at least six additional sites for smaller regional festivals for the Guild to develop. The 6th Annual Virginia Craft Brewers Fest is going to build upon its great legacy, so mark your calendars. Registration information will be available soon.
